Located on the Grand Canal at San Marco, 2159, just before it widens and becomes the Bacino di San Marco, with a view of the Baroque church of Santa Maria della Salute, this was the view that inspired Claude Monet, the impressionist painter.  The panorama is splendid.  Close by, just a short walk away are St. Mark’s Square (Piazza San Marco), St. Mark’s Basilica, the La Fenice Opera House, and Calle XXII Marzo for exclusive shopping.  Tickets to cultural events at the La Fenice Opera House, the Malibran Theatre and the Goldoni Theatre can be ordered with the concierge.  All of these theatres are close to the hotel.

The Westin Europa & Regina is made up of five historic palaces which at one time, belonged the the illustrious Tiepolos family in Venice.  Two of the city’s Doges and the painter Giambattista Tiepolo of the 17th century were of this family.

For dining while you stay at the Westin Europa and Regina, try La Cusina restaurant for gastronomic diversions. The kitchen is open style and it overlooks the Grand Canal.  Dining al fresco in the warmer months is a pleasure watching the life of the Canal, boats passing, the marvellous architecture, while sipping on some of the best vintages Italy has to offer.  For an aperitif or cocktails, drop in to the fashionable Bar Tiepolo a “happening” place for the people of Venice as well as guests of the hotel.
