The Hotel Danieli recently underwent restorations to one of its palaces in 2008, increasing the number of rooms available to a total of 225 rooms – 206 guestrooms and 19 suites.

In 2007, this luxury hotel in Venice was nominated the Conde Nast Traveller’s 2007 Gold List Reserve and received the American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts’ 2007 Partner of the Year award.  Travel and Leisure Magazine in their “Best 500 Hotels Worldwide” article listed the Hotel Danieli among the finest in the world this year.

The Hotel Danieli was originally built in 1350 and masterfully renovated in 1989.  It is actually three different palaces which make up the Hotel Danieli. Each palace is unique, with sumptuous interiors designed to enclose its guests in its luxurious surroundings offering all the modern conveniences and true comfort the discerning traveler demands.

Gloriously decorated, the main palace, the Dandolo, with gold leaf decorated ceilings, stained glass, antiques, pink marble, and chandeliers of Murano glass was built in the 1300s by the noble family Dandolo.  When entering the lobby of the Hotel Danieli, you may be overwhelmed by its grandiosity, it is a truly overwhelming experience.

The second palace called the Casa Nuova, was built and decorated in the Baroque style in the 19th century.  The smaller and third palace is the Danielino with furniture in the Empire style, framed stucco, pale blues and yellows and pinks wrap its guests in a charm of days gone by.  In total, there are 206 guest rooms and 19 suites at the Hotel Danieli.  Previously, a few years ago this luxury hotel in Venice had been awarded Conde Nast Traveler’s Gold List Reserve in 2001 and the Readers’ Choice Awards List in 2001.

The best views are from the rooms with a balcony on the Venice lagoon.  The most splendid suite is the Doge’s suite with a fresco by Iacopo Guarana and beautifully decorated with guilded antique Venetian furniture mirrors and paintings. A most wonderful choice for your first visit to Venice in style.

For business travellers or special occasions for private receptions, there are banquet rooms and meeting rooms both large and small with the ability to accommodate from 120 to 200 persons.  You will be assisted with excellent care and service in the Marco Polo banquet rooms.

One can dine in exquisite style at the restaurant Terrazza Danieli on the upper floor of the Danielli Palace where you will have an exquisite view of the Venice Lagoon from the  Lido Islands, the Church by Palladio, the Giudecca, the islands of San Giorgio, and the Church of Santa Maria della Salute.  Such an excellent panoramic view lies before you to accompany you while eating at this fine restaurant in Venice.

There is no actual fitness center at the hotel, but the concierge can book a reservation at a private center nearby where you can exercise. However, there is an outdoor pool you can use at the Hotel Des Bains or the Westin Excelsior Venice Lido Resort in the warm weather months. From June to mid-September, visit the private beach at these exclusive sister hotels by complimentary private boat service.

Other activities to pursue during your holiday in Venice include great shopping because of the Hotel Danielli’s central location, golfing at the Alberoni Golf Club on Venice Lido, tennis (also at the Hotel Des Bains or the Westin Excelsior), tennis (also at these sister hotels), windsurfing, theatre and opera.  Tickets can be arranged through the concierge for either the Godoni Theatre,  La Venice Opera House, and the Malibran Theatre, just a short walk from the Hotel Danieli.

Service at the Hotel Danieli is attentive and courteous. Access for disabled people is limited in that they only have a few rooms which are accessible. High speed internet access is available in the hotel rooms if you would like to purchase access. Rollaway beds for small children are available. Small animals up to 5 kg are permitted. Although some guests felt their hotel rooms were not as splendid as the lobby, for service and elegance, this is a highly recommended luxury hotel in Venice Italy nominated for many awards of distinction.
